Nankin

From the Yiddish nanke (medical nurse) or from the Yiddish name Henendel, derived from an old upper German name Henana, meaning grandmother, old woman. The name was given to weak, sickly children as a good omen for health. The in ending connotes belonging, i.e. an ancestor with this name was either a nurse or had the name Henendel.
